Compared with other Aman houses, the energy here feels more urban and more controlled.
An exceptional city hotel, but for me less profound than the Aman destinations close to nature.

The house builds its identity on a contrast: the metropolis outside, stillness inside. It describes itself as a place that „tempers urban dynamism with a profound atmosphere of serenity" and as a „serene urban sanctuary" above the Otemachi district. Its second pillar is design, justified not as a style but as cultural origin, with washi, wood and stone and the ryokan as a model. People play almost no part in this self-image; the only one named is „master chef Musashi" at his hinoki counter, while the warmer language about staff and hosting belongs to the brand, not to the house.
